Adobe InDesign/Indesign

Question
I have no idea what is going on. I was able to copy and paste text from word into my indesign layout, but now, I all I get is a empty text box.  I know I must of changed a setting or something. Any way, I have a deadline and am completely stuck.

Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Answer
Hi Patty,

First try looking at the text in story editor and see if it is there behind some large unseen graphic, the text overset icon would appear on your text box. This may be a link or embedded graphic that won't paste into InDesign.

Second, try the place command for importing your text into InDesign. Then, place your cursor in the text box and select all to make sure the text is there and not the same color as the page.

Third, save your Word doc in .rtf or .txt format and place in InDesign, this should strip out most of the formatting which, I think, is where the problem lays.

Hope this helps,
