Question
I have been sent on a two day trainng session in indesign CS3 and now I am expected to train others. If poss I would like a couple of questions answered.
1. If you create a graphic box or unasigned rectangle box as a background and assign it a colour, if you by accident later click in it with the type tool it changes into a text frame. Is there any way to avoid this happening, most annoying.
2. Is there any way of automatically centering objects in a layout both horizontally and vertically.
Any help would be most appreciated. Ta

Answer
1. no. You just have to learn not to do that. (I agree, it's annoying).
2. no. But you can play with the alignment toolbar. Go to window, alignment (I think it's alignment and postition - I'm not at my computer with Adobe on it right now). Click the object and play with your options.
