Question
I have tried all of the dragging color into gradient options in order for my gradient to quit turning back to b/w and none of them work. I can't drag any of the color swatches to the gradient box and I am getting very impatient and running out of options. Please help!

Answer
Mary,

I feel your pain. THe gradient panel in ID is painful. The trick is that you don't really even need it. Use the swatches panel instead. Go to the swatches panel menu and choose new gradient swatch. Now you can easily make a gradient the way you want it and it will be saved.

When you want to use it, select a frame and change its fill to your new gradient swatch and if you need to change the direction or angle use the gradient tool.
