Adobe InDesign/Frame lines

Question
Hi Ken, I've been working on a InDesign document and all of a sudden the blue lines that mark a frame don't show anymore. When I open a new document and draw a frame, and then press Ctrl+Alt+Shift+Y, I can make the blue lines to mark the frame show and hide. But I can't do this anymore in the other document. With sometimes a lot of guides in the document it's handy to have only the frame outlines rather than having the guides on (Ctrl+;). Could you help me getting the frames outlines back? Tnx

Answer
Hi Gwen,

When you are pressing Ctrl+Alt+Shift+Y, you are turning on and off the Overprint Preview, which when active, shows you a simulation of how your document will print and turns off all guides, frames and the page edge shadow among a few other things.

What I suspect has happened is the Hide Frame Edges has been activated. This, as its name implies, shows and hides the frame edges, or your blue lines marking the frame. You can access this in the View menu, or press Ctrl+Cmnd+H.

Thanks,

Ken Black
