Question
how to link type boxes. I ususally work in Quark and know indesign is similar but it's not that similar/

Answer
Hi Joe,

In Indesign you place text using your selection tool(solid pointer), go to File>Place and select a text document and then you can click in a text box or click and drag to create a new text box. If there is overset text you'll see a red box on the lower right of the text box. Click on this and then click in another text box or create a new text box. continue from column to column or page to page until there is no red box on the bottom of your text block.
Go to View>Show Text Threads to see the links.
To link two existing text blocks, use the selection tool and click in the small square on the text frame that is close to the bottom right corner, your cursor will change to a link icon and then you can click in the text block you want to link to.

Hope this helps,
