Adobe InDesign/pagination

Question

Bid Card
Hi Ken,
My question is about pagination. I am working on bid cards for an auction and I'm using InDesign (I've attached the a PDF of my file to kinda give you a visual). These bid cards will be in numerical order starting with 100 and going until about 800. The problem is that they are two bid cards on a page because we want to cut the letter sized paper in half.

I know that you can do one page number per page, but what about two? Is that possible?

Answer
If you are using Indesign CS 4, try setting up a paragraph style using a numbered list with the Figures feature enabled. A comprehensive tutorial can be found here:

http://blogs.adobe.com/indesigndocs/2009/04/numbered_lists_part_iii_figure.html

As you can see it is a little long to try explaining here.

If you are using an earlier version, you could create a list of numbers using a spreadsheet application such as Excel and import the numbers as text. If you create your initial text boxes and link them, you can have Indesign continually create pages and text frames until the list is complete by holding down command / option / shift - D on Mac or ctrl / alt / shift - D on the PC.

Thanks,
