Question
We have created a pdf from an Excel document using 'print' and adobe pdf as the printer. We have then placed it into an Indesign CS2 file. When the document is printed the pages with the pdf files placed  will not print, it prints out an error page and stops printing the document

Answer
Hi Heide,

The first thing that comes to mind here is, are the fonts embedded in the pdf from Excel?

This can be the cause of many errors.

When you print your pdf from Excel, after selecting Adobe PDF as the printer, click properties and in the Adobe PDF Settings tab make sure the "Do not send fonts to "Adobe PDF" is unchecked.

That should cause the fonts to be included or embedded in the pdf and the pages should print.

Thanks,

Ken Black
