Adobe InDesign/Printing calendar with center cut
Expert: Glen Demers - 12/1/2009
QuestionHi there!
I have a client that would like a Page-a-day type calendar, 5.5"x8.5"
What I would like to do is set the layout/print settings up in a way that I can print the pages duplex, 8.5"x11"two up, guillotine them in half and either flip the whole section over or stack them with the other half.
Wondering if there is a setting(s) that will allow me to do this or if I have to go through and move pages around to get it to work.
Thanks for your help!
AnswerHi Jennifer,
The way to achieve this is with Print Booklet using 2 up Saddle-Stitch. If you want to bind your calendar on the top you'll need to rotate your InDesign pages so turn off facing pages. This is because InDesign assumes every book is bound on the left side of the right hand page.
You may wish to set up the printer by defining your settings in Printer Setup or you can adjust these on the fly from the preview screen by clicking on the priner settings button.
Hope this helps,
