Adobe InDesign/InDesign CS$ Question

Question
I am a college student and have been given an assignment that involves InDesign.
I have set up my document, put a bleed on it, it looks like I want it to in the InDesign page.  This document will not be sent to a professional printer; it will be printed as needed by an office printer.
My problem is that when I print it to see how it looks, it won't print the bleed.  I always have a white border around it.  I have come on here many time and read past answers.  I found one that seemed to be my problme that said something about when I export it to have the crop marks and bleed marks check.  Tried it.  It didn't work.
So, now I'm stumped.

Answer
Hi Miranda,

It sounds like the printer you are using has a limit to the area that it will print. It is common with office printers to have a margin that cannot be printed.

To print with bleed and marks you will need to select a sheet size that is larger than your document or select fit to page in the print setup.
The latter will of course shrink your document and will then need to be cut out manually.

Thanks,
