Adobe InDesign/Splitting Pages

Question
I designed a poster (45.5" x 55")on a single page but we want to have it printed as two seperate panels. Do I need to recreate the poster on two seperate pages or can the printer just cut it in half? If I do need split the pages into two, how do I do that?

Answer
Hi Kat,

Your printer should be able to split or tile the page but if not...
Add 2 pages to your document, 1 before and 1 after you page with the poster on it.
In document set up check facing pages and click okay then in document set up make your page size one half (45.5 x 27.5) and click okay. If it was landscape orientation make sure it's portrait now. Your poster should be on two pages, be careful about deleting the blank first page because items will jump around when the other pages move.

Or you could export the page as an eps or pdf and bring it into a new document with half size pages and crop one side on one page and the other side on the next page.

Hope this helps,
