Adobe InDesign/Spot colors

Question
I have old spot colors that I have replaced by new colors in an old document that
I am updating and getting ready for reprint. InDesign will not let me delete the
old spot colors from the new revision of the document even though it states that
they are not in use. I have doubled checked all my graphics and text and those
old spot colors are not in use that I can find. When I do "collect for output" it
shows up with the unwanted spot colors. How do I get rid of them in my
document ?

Answer
Hi Shari,

You can try moving your graphics to break the links and see if the unwanted colors are still in your document and if they can be deleted. They may be referenced in a style sheet, so I would look through my styles for them and delete the styles or change the references to your new colors.

If they appear only after re-linking the graphics then you know where they are and you'll have to go through the graphics removing the unwanted colors.

Hope this helps,
