Adobe InDesign/In Design text problem

Question

text issue
All my text has a line running through it including spaces. I've tried restarting a few time, no luck. It doesn't matter what font either, everytime I start typing a line appears within each letter and space.

Answer

Indesign Type Tool Opt
Hi Debbie,

I think the problem you are experiencing may be due to the Type Tool having it's Strikethrough attribute on as a preference. Indesign will save certain options as preference when they are selected without a document open, thus causing those chosen options to be on all the time as a default.

To fix this, start up Indesign and without creating a new document, select the Type Tool in the tool palette and then look to see if the Strikethrough option is clicked on in the Control palette. (see image) If it is, click it off. Now when you create a new document or open an existing one, you shouldn't be automatically typing Strikethroughs.
