Adobe InDesign/Exporting PDF

Question
QUESTION: Hi,

I am exporting a document from indesign where I have the page numbers and title set up in master pages.  Now when I export the PDF it does not show the page numbers or title on only the odd pages.  Not sure what it is if its my setting when exporting or in my master page?

ANSWER: Hey Nicole, thanks for the question.

I have a feeling that your document is set up using Facing Pages but you are only using one Master page for your spread.

What I would probably try first, is to set up a new master spread in your Pages panel and make sure it has two pages. Then put your titles and auto page numbers on them. Then apply them to the inside pages of your document.

If this doesn't work, and you like to email me the document to have a look, let me know.

Thanks, good luck!

QUESTION: Hi Scott,

Yes it is set to use facing pages but I have also used two master pages as well.  I tried creating a second master page for the right pages and keep the old master for the left pages and that seems to work but should I not be able to do this with one master spread.  It just seems to be the odd pages that the tile and page numbers are now showing up.

You can download my indesign document here to take a look:

Also this document was created in CS3 but now I am using CS4 so would that effect it?

Answer
Hi Nicole, thanks for the link.

I've downloaded the document and everything seems fine to me. The master spread seems to work and exporting it to PDF shows all the page numbers where they should be.

I wouldn't worry about having created a document in CS3 and now updating it in CS4... going backwards might cause some changes though.

Hope this helps, if there's anything I missed, let me know.

Scott
