Question
We use Quarkxpress (6 and 7) pdf from out customers end import it in indesign and ad text to it and make a new pdf. But now we bought CS4 with Indesign versie 6.0.3 and we have difficulties with the new pdf made in indesign with xpress pdf. The typefaces are disformed to boxes and stripes. How can we solve this? The older CS3 have no problems.

Answer
Lesley,

Quark PDFs can have particular issues at times depending how they were made.

If you have a problem PDF I would recommend that you open the PDF in Acrobat professional, export to postscript and then distill it into a new pdf.

Try placing the new distilled pdf into InDesign and see if you get a better result.
