Adobe InDesign/strange page numbering

Question
Hello,
I set my page numbering up the usual way using the master pages. It shows correctly on the 150+ pages I have. However, at the bottom of the page where you can toggle switch to pages, it shows Sec1:150 (the page number. Very strange. Now when I go to print a few pages in the print command ti does not take the 'sec: . . . nor the page number its self. Please advise how to get the "sec:" off of there. Many thanks in advance.

Answer
Hi Yvone,

I am quite aware of the section prefix "bug" inside InDesign. I assume you are using CS3 or earlier since they fixed this in CS4.

In order to remove the prefix, you need to right click on the start of the section (you will see a tiny black triangle above the page in the pages panel) and choose numbering and section options. In the section options, just delete the prefix and you will be ready to go.

If your document has more than 1 section (look for black triangle) be sure to check/change them all to nothing.
