Question
QUESTION: Hi,
I need your help for three question. At first could you please tell me how can I plce my document inside the bleedin option? second, I would like to know how can I place more than one bussiness cards inside of bleeding option? And my last question is how can I correct my error. I need to go my source file or I correct directly in in design?

ANSWER: Hi Aay,

When you set up a document, the bleeds are guides outside the trim of the page for graphics that go to the edge of the sheet. They need to extend beyond the trim line to allow for discrepancies in cutting.

You would need to have a separate page for each business card in order for InDesign to put bleed around each card. For a 3.5" by 2" business card make your page size 3.5 by 2 and place graphics that are 3.75" by 2.25" to allow for .125" bleed all the way around.

If you are placing graphics of your business cards and not creating them in InDesign, then you'll have to edit them in the source program.

QUESTION: Hello,

I have another question If I want to print 4 business cards in one page how could I set it?

ANSWER: Hi Aay,

To set up a page with 4 standard sized business cards on it in Indesign go to Document>New.
Make the size 7.25 width by 4.25 height, 2 columns with .25 gutter. 0 margins and .125 bleed.

Once the page is up you can drag down two horizontal guides, one at 2" and one at 2.25"

This will give you a layout for 4 business cards. When you print this out the marks will only be on the 4 corners, so you may want to add some marks of your own to the layout.

QUESTION: Hi,

Thanks for your help I understand every thing very well but I have a problem with crop marks. How can I apply crop marks in my 4 business cards and what is the setting of crop marks?

Answer
Hi,

InDesign will only put crop marks on the four corners of your page. Since you have four business cards on one page, you'll have to make your own crop marks for each business card by putting lines outside the page that correspond to the gutters and guides. When you draw your own crop marks, they have to touch the page to print out but you can cover the part inside the bleed and trim area with a white box. Go to Object>Arrange>Send To Back to move the boxes to the back and then do the same to the crop marks to have everything behind the business cards.

You could also print out one copy with the guides visible, in the Print dialog box in the options box check "Print Visible Guides and Baseline Grids". This will print a copy of your page with the guides and gutters showing to use as a template for cutting out the business cards.
