Adobe InDesign/text on a path

Question
Hi, I am new to indesign,(have used Quark Xpress 5.0 self taught) I have CS4 for p/c.  I want to do an ad with a curved title at the top. I have the visual quickstart guide. but it really doesn't describe in detail how to get this to work from the very beginning. I started with an oval to use as path, but when I type in the words, then try to adjust, it keeps trying to do other things, all kinds of different things happen. it seems like there should be a much easier way to make a simple curved text for a header. any simple help would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

Answer
June,

If you want text to curve you have to first draw the curved line or use the shape tool like you have made.

Next, select the type on a path tool (located underneath the regular type tool)

Finally, click with that tool on the path or shapes edge where you want the type to begin and it will flow around the path and you type.
