Adobe InDesign/Page Numbers

Question
Using InDesign CS3, I have assigned page numbers and I can see the text box at
the bottom of the each page, but they are blank. However, in the Table of
Contents that I have created from the text, it shows page numbers. At what point
will I see the page numbers at the bottom of the page?

Answer
Hi Joseph,

The page number should show up right away.

Make sure that the text box is big enough and there is no red overset text marker on the page number text boxes. Go to Layout>Numbering & Section Options to make adjustments if necessary.

Make sure the page numbers are set in black text.

Look for frames near the text boxes that have text wrap settings which may be forcing text out of the page numbers box, again you should see the overset text marker.

It could be a corrupt font, try closing all fonts and try changing the font used for page numbering.

Hope this helps,
