Adobe InDesign/Open pc files on mac

Question
I am about to switch to a mac system, after using a pc for years. Will I be able to open the pc files on the mac directly, or will I have to resave them all as an .inx file? Thx!

Answer
hi Lisa,

The InDesign files will open on the Mac as long as you have the same or a newer version of InDesign. You'll have to use the .inx format only when going back to a previous version of InDesign.

The only issue with switching to a mac is usually the fonts, but PC Truetype fonts will load on the mac so this is only a problem if you're using Postscript fonts on the PC - you'll have to get substitutes for the mac.

Hope this helps,
