Question

ID CS3 - font purple b
Good morning,

I hope you understand my problem, English is my second language.
I have a problem with InDesign CS3. I copied an ID file from another computer on my computer. when I opened it with my ID, the text has a "purple background", and I cannot change the font to bold, or italic.

I attached a pictures to make my problem visually clearer.

Thank you in advance

Answer
Hi Dominik,

The "purple background" you see is the highlight warning method Indesign uses to tell you a particular font has not been loaded on the machine you are viewing the document on.

To find what font is missing, choose Type in the menu bar and scroll to Find Font...

Indesign will show you which fonts are missing by listing them at the top of the list and placing an exclamation point next to the typeface name.

Load the required onto your machine either in the system fonts folder or by using a font management application, such as Suitcase or Linotype FontExplorer.

Once you have loaded or turned on the font that has been used, the highlight will disappear and you will be able to choose between the available type styles.

Thanks,
