Adobe InDesign/Maximum InDesign page size?

Question
G'Day

1.Is there a maximum page size for ID docs?
2. If there is, how do I scale my documents so they will print out at a size that will show my printers marks (Trim marks) when I print my document at smaller size from the printing options menu?

i.e. Im doing a ute decal that is 260X1380 and another document which is much larger and when it comes time to print my PDF I'm getting trim marks in the wrong spot. Sometimes even half way through my job (although they are on the same axis)

I never have these problems with all my other design work, it's always only files that are large in format.

Any help would be really welcome, thank you.

Answer
Hi Kerrilee,

Yes, there is a maximum page size for Indesign Documents. However, you haven't reached that point.

The maximum that can be handled is 15552 pts; or 216 inches; or 5486.4 millimeters; and so on.

Indesign will warn you if you are attempting to create a document larger than what it can handle.

When you print your document, if you have chosen a paper size smaller than your document, including marks and bleeds, change the settings from Full size to Fit to page under Setup in the print menu. That should shrink everything uniformly to fit on your printed sheet.

As for the trim marks being in the wrong place; I have to ask the obvious here, is your document size equal to what you are expecting in output or have you placed a larger object over a smaller document size? In other words, is your document size letter size 8.5 x 11 inches with an image or graphic that is 260x1380 placed on it? If so, create your document size the same as what you want in the finished trim size.

Thanks,
