Adobe InDesign/resizing template in InDesign and the Photoshop images that get imported into template

Question
I am currently working on a book in InDesign using a template sized at 8 1/2" x 11" and I would like to resize the template to 5 1/2" x 8 1/2". How do I do that?

Secondly, I import images into this template from Photoshop. I currently import them at 100%. I was told that there is a way to create and run a script on the batch of images to reduce their size to accurately import into the newly sized template. Any ideas on how to do that?

Thanks for your help.

Answer
Hi Leslie,

To change the size of your template go to the file menu and choose Document Set-up. Change the dimensions to what you need and click ok. If you want this to be a new template, go to file, Save As and choose Indesign Template from the document type menu.

As for the scripting part, I am really late to the game on this. I have only recently began attempting scripting and really cannot answer that at this time.

Thanks,
