Adobe InDesign/Indicator to show more text features in another text box.

Question
Hi there,

I hope this makes sense. I basically want to create, as you see within many printed publications an icon, or in this instance an arrow that appears at the bottom of a text column automatically when the text within flows to another text column. This then clearly indicates that there is more text to be read, especially if the second column resides on another page. I could manually do this but would be great if there was a way to allow the following text to almost manually trigger this. Is it something that is possible?

Any help would be grateful.

Thanks, Simon

Answer
Hi Simon,

Adobe has this in the help section:

http://help.adobe.com/en_US/InDesign/6.0/WSa285fff53dea4f8617383751001ea8cb3f-71...

It details how to add "jump lines" to your text to indicate where it is continued or where it is continued from.

However, it does not offer any provisions to automatically have any indicator appear when text flows from one column to another. It also does not create the jump lines automatically. The jumps will follow the text from one page to the next and automatically update the page number if you move the story, but it does not automatically create them for you.

Thanks,
