Adobe InDesign/arranging book to print.

QuestionHi I am tryin to print a double sided book. I have already created the spreads, there are 53 pages (so 26 spreads plus the extra blank page at the beginning). I know they have to be in a different order so the spreads end up together in the right place in the book but my question is, what is that order? Do I offset them all by one page? or since its double sided what page numbers will have to be on the back of others? Hope the wording makes sense! and thanks
AnswerHi Emily,
In InDesign you can go to Print Booklet to let InDesign create the spreads for you.
Since you cannot have 53 pages I'm assuming you will print 56 pages or 14 sheets of paper folded in half. To create printer spreads start with page 56 on the left and page 1 on the right, the back to this spread has page 2 on the left and page 55 on the right.
Continue this way through the entire book with even numbered pages on the left and the two page numbers adding up to one more than the total number of pages in the book, 1 and 56 = 57, 2 & 55 = 57, the centerspread will be pages 28 & 29.
Hope this helps,
