Adobe InDesign/Export to Epub Missing Objects from Illustrator

Question
Hi,
I have imported text from illustrator although it is no longer text as I have put it into outlines so it copies and pastes into In Design as an eps. object. When I export the file to epub  only the jpg. image behind what was text shows up. The text objects are now missing although they do show up in the contents page of my 15 page document. Everything shows up fine in ID. I greatly appreciate your help.
Thank You

Answer
Hi Ruth,

Instead of copy and paste got to File>Place... in InDesign to bring in photos and graphics. This will create a link to the Illustrator file. When you copy and paste, the graphics are stored temporarily on your computer's internal clipboard which may convert the objects to lower res previews, which are then pasted into your InDesign file.

When all your graphics are linked you can edit them later in Illustrator or Photoshop and the next time you open the InDesign file you can just update the links and your edits will be there.

Hope this helps,
