Adobe InDesign/save as word doc

Question
Hello, i have indesign CS4 for windows, i would like to save or export my file as a word doc, so that i can send to other people for them to make corrections / changes.  is this possible ??  would need easy instructions as i am new to indesign

Hi June,

You can't export an entire file into Word, but you can export individual stories.

Select your type tool and click in a story you wish to export. Next go to Edit>Select All or go to Edit>Edit in Story Editor. Then go to File>Export... Select either Rich Text Format or Text Only as your format. Either will open in Word, but the Rich text may save some of your formatting when you replace the text.

If someone is going to do a lot of editing of InDesign files, I would recommend investing in a copy of InCopy. It is Adobe's stand alone text editor and is very tightly integrated with InDesign.
