Adobe InDesign/Mac to PC with InDesign

Question
Handed off a InDesign CS4 document to our client who is on a PC (and says they are CS4), the problem is that they are getting the error "unknown format" for the indesign file and any of the images collected for the file (psd, ai, etc). Is this is software version issue, file corrupt issue (files where downloaded from our FTP). Any help would be appreciated!

Answer
Hi Brian,

It could be getting corrupted, once you've collected the files create a .zip archive for your client to download. Make sure all your files have the proper extensions on them as the PC goes by this to determine format.

Have the client launch InDesign CS4 first and open the file from within the application.

You might also export your file as an Adobe Interchange document and include this in the package, in case they have InDesign CS3.

Hope this helps,
