Adobe InDesign/Book/Magazine Setup

Question
How would I setup a multiple-page InDesign document like a book or a magazine so that when I send it to the printer, the page numbers are in order? I have been having a hard time figuring this out because I have been designing as layout spreads so that I can see the actual pages side by side.

Thanks :)

Answer
1. make a book by hand. Take some paper and fold the book. after doing that, put the page numbers on the book. This is your template.

2. create your document with the pages you need, each page being a page.  Make sure the spreads check box is checked.

3. open your template up so that it lays flat.  I would label the document as well. (the first page will say cover, backpage, put this on your indesign document)

you are now in printers spread

or

create your book as a readers spread (1,2,3) and when you are done, go to file, Inbooklet SE and that will do it for you

or...and what you should do first

call your printer and ask what they want.  Most actully want you to just give it to them as readers, and they will do it themselves.
