Question

Hi, Thanks for reading my question.

My job is killing me, our accounting program exports  a pdf (usually about 30 to 50 pages), and then I can copy and paste the data to excel ( so I can manipulate the data)..ONE PAGE AT A TIME!  AHH!  it's taking me nights and weekends just to keep up.

I can highlight the data, copy and paste to excel on page at a time.

I can use Edit, select all, and still only selects one page.

I've tried opening the file in excel and its jsut jargon.

there has got to be a way.  I have the same problem with a pdf report that is 20 pages, and I copy the pages one at a time and paste them into word and then make changes.

I have abobe acrobat professional, adobe illustrator and adobe indesign, Can I use a combination of these programs to solve the problem?

thanks
Rebecca"

Answer
hey,

there's really not much you can do when putting .pdf and excel together.

You can try to copy the numbers/text into word.  Either just paste it, or see if you can make a table in word.  If you can save it in .csv format, do it.  If not, just save it as normal. then open it in Excel.

Or, open Indesign, make a new document and make your table in there.

The problem is that .pdf is a non working file.  Its a copy.  You need to be using programs that are for data, more microsoft things, Access might be better for you as well.  Adobe will not be of much help.
