Adobe InDesign/Gradient Tool Seems to Use only B/W

Question
Hi! I am stumped as to how to get the gradient tool to work using a color in the background. Whenever I click on the gradient tool, it converts the color to B/W and I can't seem to find the way to convert it to the color I am using.

Thanks,
Beth

Answer
hey,

choose the color you want in the gradient, but dont select the oject to be gradientized. When you choose the color, the color will appear in the tool bar. Literally drag that box into your gradient dialog box. Do it again for another color.

now, select your wanna-be gradient object - either double click on the gradient, or drag the gradient to the box. You can adjust in the gradient dialog box once you have made your graident.
