Adobe InDesign/Illustrator Images

Question
When I design something in Illustrator and take it into Indesign, the
colors are dark and ugly.  What am I doing wrong?  I'm new to
indesign.  I have indesign cs.  To get an image or file I already have
saved, onto my page in indesign, do I go to file, place and then
select the file?

Answer
QUESTION 1 - don't worry about that.  Indesign is a lo-res layout program. They are ugly becuase they use the lowest resolution possible while laying out - that way you can work with the page and it not be a hassle.  right click your mouse and say view as High res, or whatever it says for the best way to view (bottom item).

When you export as a .pdf, you'll see your items come back, same with printing.

QUESTION 2 - Yep, thats it ;).  You can also ctrl + D.
