Adobe InDesign/InDesign 2 for windows
Expert: Candice Anderson - 5/19/2006
QuestionI go to New Doc, set up my margins, click on "facing pages" and "master text frame" and have number of pages as 1 and save this and then double click the Master Page A in the pages palette which brings the pages onto the pasteboard. On these pages on the pasteboard I establish a text box and put another text box at the bottom of both pages and successfully establish autopaging and I save as a template. Close down and reopen to make my new file. But then when I place my MS Word file, the file covers the paging frame and then skips a page leaving page 2, 4, 6 blank with the text only on page 1, 3, 5 and it should be on page 1,2,3,4 consecutively. Should the text frame for the paging be put outside the margins? That does work but each of these sections is a chapter in a book and so does that do anything later on to the final connection of each of these sections to form a book. Thank you, Trena Machado
Answerhey there,
I'm not sure what you are trying to do. Are you saying that you want to place text from word to indesign, but it keeps skipping? I'm not really sure how you got to this point as I do it differntly.
the template, awesome, you did that right. When I place the text though, I place it in page one, then I hit the red square. Then I place it page two and so on until I'm done. It's slower but I then know it's working.
If you can reword your question, that would be good, as I don't understand what you are saying. Are you looking at an Indesign book? If thats the case, then you need read the whole chapter to see what they want you to do. (so many questions will be answered :) Are you using the Indesign in a classroom book? If so, they have samples of the final project on their cd that they give you.
Please email me if you have any more questions, and I'm sorry I can't help you further
