Adobe InDesign/InDesign Pasting

Question
Dear Candice-

I am trying to copy text from one document (a word document, for example) and paste it into my InDesign document and have the text retain its formating (i.e. underline, italics, font, size, bold, etc.)

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Thank you,
~Kristina

Answer
Hey Kristina,

This is a finiky process as sometimes princess indesign (that would be her new name :) )  will brings things in and sometimes it won't.  Try cutting and pasting first.  If this doesn't work, save the word file.  Then, in Indesign, make your font the font that you word doc is. Go to file, place, and find your document. Then place. Most of your items should remain in tack.
