I want the automatic page numbering to begin with '1' on the actual 7th page of my 100 page book in indesign cs. I'm trying to do it the master pages, but everytime it starts with 7 ! agh!  please help! i know this is a silly question.

I was looking up something else when I stumpled apon a solution for you :)

Open you document. go to window, pages.  Right click on one of the pages and go to numbering and section options.  Click start page numbering at ... and type page 7.
