Adobe InDesign/document resizing

Question
Help, how do i change a document size from 11 X 17 to 8.5 X 11? It already
has images and text. I'd like to ultimately convert it to a PDf after the
resizing. I'm a total newbie and have been thrown into learning InDesign
along with other programs, with a deadline coming up.

Thank you!

Answer
if you're just resizing it, no changes are anything:

1. save as a .pdf
file
export
pdf
choose hi-res
ok
2. place the pdf in indesign
file
place
choose the file
3. on the top there should be a measurement that says 11 and 17. in the 11, type in 8.5. In the 17, type 11 (basically, change your width and height
4. save
5. save as a .pdf.
