Adobe InDesign/staggered page numbering

Question
Hi there - I have 100-page document (8.5x11/each page) created  as a spread and arranged so that when exported to PDF the printer can just print front/back. I'm trying to set up an automated numbering system but the numbers are staggered across spreads (ie. spread 2 which includes page 2 and 3 but which in actuality is page 2 and 60; then spread 3 which includes page 3 and 4 but is 61 and 4). It's basically a zigzag across the document. I know there is a way by defining section numbering but I'm having a hellish time trying to set this up. Do you have a clear direct way in which to do this? Thanks so much for your time.

Answer
ok, see if I got this?

You already put this thing in printer's spread...but you haven't numbered yet? yes?

I sadly don't know a way to do the numbering once your in that mode, you have to put in reader's spread, number it, THEN put it in printer's spread. There is hope. My printer man, for like a few more dollars, will actually number everything for me. They have a numbering program that they use on tickets and what not. See if you can have them do it. It's a crazy way of doing it, but it'll save you sanity.
