Adobe Photoshop/2 color process
Expert: Huma Riaz - 3/16/2004
Question I am currently working on a project that is requiring a 2 color process (red & black). The files need to be a tiff or eps when using photoshop. I tried going through the photoshop help menu but it is spinning me in circles. If you could give me some advise I would greatly appreciate your help.
Thanx,
Brandon
AnswerHello Brandon,
I have done this kind of job long time ago, when i made an output of a 4 color spot job in Photoshop.
This process is a bit tricky, you have to work in channels, assume each channel as your required color, and all the color info will have to have only in those respective channels. Discard the information of the rest of the channels.
Lets say you have chosen M (Ctrl+3) for RED and K (Ctrl+4) for Black. (Don't forget to convert your file in CMYK for that)
You will see the color information in only that color, this might gives you problem in viewing the actual thing while viewing in composite image (Ctrl+'), as you can see everything in only pink and black colors. But you can have better idea of how this will look after printing.
For output, you can send 4-color file of PSD but you will need to make only the 2 colors film for output (M+K)
If am not clear enough, you can ask anything specifically.
