Question
Scott, Hope you can help with this.
I have been running photoshop 5.0 limited edition on Windows 98. I have just loaded it onto another computer with Windows XP.
Q. How do i make the shape/size of a brush/tool appear as an outline? all i can get is a brush/tool shaped curser (or small cross if i use caps lock)
Thanks
Martyn

Answer
Hi Martyn - thanks for your question.

I'm not sure I can help, as I have no way to test this on a similar setup, but there should be an options setting where you can choose to show the size of the brush. The crosshair is the "precise" option, and since that works, I presume there will be an option for the brush size, too.

Check under Edit > Options, or check the help files for brushes and options. This is one of the first things I set up in a new installation of Photoshop, so I never learned a shortcut - I don't even know if there is one!

If that doesn't work, send me a follow up and I'll try to track down some more information for you.

Cheers,

-Scott
