Question
Hi,

I am doing a project where I have to convert a movie character into a sandcastle. I want it to look like the sandcastle is actually built on a beach out of that specific character. My first attempt is Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Caribbean. I have been searching for tutorials on how to do this and I've had no luck. I've tried to use a displacement map, but it does not seem to have the effect I'm after (I may be doing it incorrectly). I was wondering if you would be able to give me step by step instructions on how I would complete this project. Thank you and any help or advise would be appreciated.

Alex

Answer
Hi Alex,
Check this link http://www.worth1000.com/tutorial.asp?sid=161111&page=1

However this tutorial teaches how to  make a statue. U can make a slight variation by adding brown color, and some noise, to make it look like sand at the end.

All da best.
