Adobe Photoshop/Using Hexadecimal for background color

Question
We are using a photo for a banner on our website created in photoshop 6 but we want to change the background color to #7c8c93.  How do we choose a color using the hexadecimal number?

Answer
Hi Richard,

If you are using layers, you can simply create a new, blank layer below everything else and fill with the chosen color. You would do this by opening the color pallet and entering in the hex value directly in the appropriate box. The other values (CMYK, for example) will update as you make the change.

Check the help files for details on opening the color pallet in your version, but I believe you can simply double-click on the foreground swatch in the tools pallet. This should give you the color pallet you need.

I hope this answers your question - if not, please feel free to follow up!
