Adobe Photoshop/cursor in CS

Question
For some reason yet unknown to me, the cursor has changed from an arrow to a pair of hands when working on a picture.  The left hand is the one that selects a action such as positioning the marquee or creating a circle.  I have dumped my preferences but that did not help.

I have no idea what i did to cause this.  Any idea how can I get my pointer back?

Thanks in advance.

Paul

Answer
Hi Paul,

In Photoshop Preferences>Displays & Cursors,  try changing to Precise or Brush-size cursor to see if this changes anything. There is a hand tool but the hand shaped cursor should change when you change tools or hold down the command or control key.
My guess is that you have a cursor utility somewhere on your system interfering with Photoshop. Look for a utility/control panel that lets you change or animate your cursor and turn it off. My wife uses a utility called Biggie Cursor which causes the cursor to disappear when it's moved over an image in Photoshop and just turning it off temporarily fixes it.

Hope this helps,
