Question
Hi Glen,
Bet you didn't expect to find me here. What I am looking for is an organized method of learning Elements 7. (Classes, either online or classroom, or an excellent book.) Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Answer
Hi Bob,

The first step is to go through any Adobe tutorials provided with the software or online at: http://www.adobe.com/designcenter/video_workshop/
This is a great way to familiarize yourself with all the controls and features.
There are many great Photoshop books out there, it all depends on what you want to do. The "Real World" series are great for general Photoshop use, Katrin Eismann's books are great for retouching and repairing photos, Bert Monroy's books show how to create images from scratch in Photoshop. Jack Davis, Ben Willmore, Deke McClelland and Scott Kelby are all good authors.
For me, the best way to learn is by doing. I'll start by following a tutorial and then experiment with the new techniques.
There are lots of tutorials on the web to follow: Lynda.com and Photoshopuser.com charge for them but many free ones are at Adobe and luv2help.com.
Once you learn a few tricks and techniques and pay attention to details, you'll have a lot of fun creating great images.

and, I'm always here if you get stuck!

Hope this helps,
