Adobe Photoshop/copy paste

Question
i'm trying to copy & paste an image (png) into photoshop but when i paste, the image has a black square around it...is there anything ican do?

Hi Jackie,

Try opening the PNG file in PS first, or use file>place to place it into your file. Also double check your color modes in both files and make sure they are compatible. A lot of times I see this happen when people are accidentally in Quick Mask mode or a channel, pasted selections show up as black.
