Question
Good Day. I am not an expert in Photoshop. I have a photo of a group that was taken and the photo has too much white light. I would like to balance the image by making adjustment to balance of lighting (too bright) in the bottom of the photo. How can I do this in PhotoShop. The color are just right in certain area of the photo, but in other areas there is too much white light. I hope you can understand. I don't know how else to explain.

Answer
Hi Dawn,

I would use an adjustment layer.

This is found in the layers palette. You could use something like levels or hue/saturation to adjust the photo.

Don't panic that the entire picture changes when you adjust, only look at the area in question.

After you accept the changes, you can use the layer mask (the icon to the right of the layer symbol) to erase out the areas you do not want color correction to take place.

Hope this helps.
