Question
QUESTION: Hi,

I'm using CS2 and cannot merge or flatten layers without losing all my layer effects, like dropped shadows and beveled edges. I've tried "Stamping" and it doesn't work either. I always lose my effects.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

ANSWER: So you need to flatten layers…

There's a solution :-)

Click on the layer which has your effect, right click on the layer down arrow and select create layer.

Now you have get a another layer for your effect.

Now flatten your layers comfortably, and Cheers!!!!

QUESTION: Hello again,

I should have mentioned that I'm using a Mac. I did try creating another layer and merging down into it, but I still lost the effect.

I'm creating a certificate for my students, so I'd like to be able to flatten the image and make a PDF out of it so my students can download it.

Thanks,
Carol

Answer
Hi Carol, If you just have to create a PDF of your file, there's no need to merge layers of your PSD doc.

FILE > SAVE AS your document and choose PDF file format from format field.

your file will have a another version, just choose where you want it to be saved.

hope this will help.
