Adobe Photoshop/Saving as Gif or JPEG in CS2 (9.02)

Question
I have Photoshop CS2, version 9.03, and when I go to save as, GIF and JPEG are not an option. And when I pull down on file and try to go to "Save as Web", it is grayed out. Any idea why? I am doing some web work at home, and my Mac at work has this function - I thought they were the same version.

Answer
Hi Brenda,

Two things come to mind. One, check your color mode and make sure it is RGB, Grayscale, or bitmap since they are the only color modes supported by gif. If your file is CMYK it won't allow you to save directly, but you should have the save for web...

The other issue could be your bit rate. Make sure its 8 bit.

However, the puzzlement to me is  if you do have the same version at home and the same file is able to be saved on your mac, it sounds like your PC may be missing some components and may need to be reinstalled.

Thanks

Kevin
