Adobe Photoshop/Screen Resolution
Expert: Kamal Krishna - 3/18/2008
QuestionI am using a Gateway mediacenter edition computer. It has a wide WIDE variety of resolution options. (1280x1024...72 HZ...I dont know what any of this means). I am playing computer games and a STUPID message keeps popping up telling me to change resolutions. I can not paralyze this message to make it go away. I do A LOT of photowork in Photoshop (Old version...dont recall the exact number)...I have been having A LOT of difficulty getting an accurate correlation between the "screen image"...and "what comes out when I print"...my question is...can you give me ANY idea the difference in the various options for screen resolution....if i put in one setting for my games...and to SHUT OFF that stupid message....will it affect my photos. Do you have any idea why my screen picture is so different from the actual print. I am using an Epson R340/ Six cartridge printer.
Thank you so much.

AnswerHi Leigh,
screen resolution is only a visual adjustment for the monitor.
For Games the usual recommended resolution is 800x600 or 1024x768.
You first change the resolution and then start the game, that's because few games are not designed for higher screen resolutions.
Shutting Off or changing the screen resolution will not affect any photos or files. If you problems with correlation in photoshop do not use wide screen resolutions. You can use any of the following screen resolutions 800x600, 1024x768, 1152x864, 1280x960.
Do let me know if u need further assistance.
