Adobe Photoshop/removing background

Question
i have a tiff file that i am working with & it has a very light gray background,  i would like to remove just that light gray background so it will be just white. i seem to remember doing this before. i have windows xp & photoshop 7.0.  thanks !

Answer
Hi June,

You will have to select the background and delete it. The easiest would be the magic wand tool. Select the area you wish to change, then either fill it with white (edit>fill) or hit delete if your background color is white.

Thanks

Kevin
