I want to be able to compress photos so that they can be easily uploading into a e-mail software program. Which software would you recommend and is there one I can download for free.

Photo compression can be done in any software like paint, PS or paint shop pro etc. it’s the format that compresses the file not the software.

i.e. JPG is the best compression format for pictures, and if you have logos or limited color file to be saved, you can use GIF file format for that. These formats are being used hugely for web.
