Question
We recently got our print head and pump cap assembly replaced on our Epson 10000 since we were having horizontal banding.  When I print from Preview, there now is no banding; however, when I print the same document in Photoshop, there still is banding.  What do I need to do in Photoshop to achieve the same results as I do in Preview?

Answer
Hi Karen,

When you print from Preview, it is a low resolution print. When you are printing from PS, Im guessing your PPI/DPI is higher than 72.

The issue is really with your printer causing the banding. Photoshop has no control over the printer. The only way to solve this on a PS basis, is to reduce the resolution.

But before you drastically reduce things,  I would try printing on a higher quality paper and see if the banding exists. You can also check out your printer set up and slow down the print speed using the "best" setting or whatever quality setting your printer plug-in allows.

I would contact your Epson customer service and see what they suggest.

Thanks

Kevin
